Fake IDs

Fake IDs are the key to becoming sovereign, or living a totally anonymous existence (which is my goal).

Obtaining a fake ID is the tricky part, but apparently a lot of websites sell fake IDs. I'm not too sure about the validity of a lot of those websites, though. That is the problem with black markets.

Anyway, here is the list of what you need to live totally anonymously (some of which can be obtained through using a fake ID):

*An alias (extremely important - a false identity to show the world)
*Travel - obviously you cannot travel in a vehicle in your name. Also, when taking public transport you must be weary of cameras with facial recognition technology.
*No meatspace social life - unfortunately this is not an option. That means no friends or family.
*Accommodation - privately arranged and using your false identity.
*Movements - you MUST keep alternating where you go and who you see. For example, if I visit a video store too often the staff will begin to know me and then I have compromised my anonymity.
*Financial - offshore bank accounts. Have to make sure that none of your purchases can be traced back to you.
*AND to keep your eyes open for future developments.... You never know, one day you might look out the window and see soldiers rounding up people on the street.

Unfortunately, if this National ID Card business does materialise... Things could get much worse... Hopefully the crypto-anarchists will find a solution.

I have often thought about this too. Getting a fake driver's id seemed easy enough...but I would really need a fake social security card...which seems infinately harder to come by.

Not that I want to become anonymous or anything, but like you said, just in case...

In regards to your isolation...have you considered adopting a pet? Or would that also compromise your individuality in some manner?

lol, no I have nothing against pets but I'm looking at getting an aibo or something robotic.

Anonymity may be a pipe dream though if the Big Brother surveillance state does come to pass.
